A Quiet Retreat in a Charming Community
Nestled just south of Barrie and an hour north of Toronto, Alliston is a charming farm community with a population of around 20,000. Known for its quiet residential streets, century homes, and beautiful gardens, it offers a peaceful setting with all the essentials — including a hospital, parks, and local amenities.
The Boyne River flows through the heart of town, inviting you to find a quiet spot at Riverside Park — whether on a bench under the trees or along the riverbank. For a deeper connection with nature, Earl Rowe Provincial Park is just a three-minute drive away.
Here, you can wander along serene trails, keeping an eye out for over 100 species of birds — from ruby-throated hummingbirds to yellow warblers and purple finches. Wildlife like deer, squirrels, rabbits, beavers, and foxes also call the park home.
Spend your time picnicking, fishing, paddling, sunbathing, or swimming in the acre-sized wading pool. Canoe and paddleboat rentals are available at the Park Store.
