Beginner's Shawl

A Weekend Away

of retreat … create, rest and be refreshed.

Come by yourself or bring some friends!

You can check in Thursday night …

or arrive first thing Friday morning.

Two full days enjoying Prayer, Creating and we hope you can join us 10am Sunday morning, when the prayer shawls will be blessed during our community service.

Come and enjoy our beautiful prayerful setting.  Relax with friends or come and meet new ones, as you enjoy a ‘time away’ …

As we prayerfully knit, the ritual of shawl making becomes a grounding influence in our everyday lives.  The steady rhythm becomes a soothing mantra, enabling us to focus beyond the process of knitting to the words spoken in our hearts to our God.

Your registration package will include these 3 prayer shawl options and a shopping list for each one, so you can bring the material needed to create your beautiful prayer shawl.

Knots Of Faith

Yarn woven with compassion

Purls of blessings,

Knots of faith,

Needles of strength.

Showing Your love,

A loop forever growing,

With one we are born,

Another we learn to trust.

Getting bigger, more elaborate.

Forever holding in Your endless love.

Forever holding out the pain

That would bring us from You.

Lord please bless the hands

That weave Your love.

Bless the needles

That hold us all together.

Bless the yarn

That loops our lives into one.

Lord bless the heart

That forever works in Your name.

The Retreat House

Located in the heart of Alliston beside a quaint historic Anglican Church set amidst beautiful grounds.

It is a place where one is restored... finding rest in God's peace... being still. It is a place to experience God's hope, healing and grace.  It is a place one can listen to and share the stories of Jesus... then and now.

We invite everyone to come and experience the presence of God.
